Camp Allen was founded in 1931 by Dr. Edward Allen, Director of Perkins School for the Blind and a partnership between the Boston Kiwanis and Manchester Lions. Dr. Allen believed that young girls who were blind should have the same opportunities for outdoor experiences and fun as other children. This fundamental philosophy continues today.
